Classical Conversations Cycle 2 Resources

Welcome to our on-line resources for Classical Conversations Cycle 2, a place to find supplemental crafts, worksheets, videos, and other on-line resources corresponding with the Foundations memory work. This portion of our website was built over several years, and we continue to update and maintain it for the sake of helping families who use Classical Conversations. We offer these lists as a quick reference for those who wish to easily find such resources.

As an example of how to use these resources, download this Cycle 1 sample activity plan, or refer to our past personal curriculum & school schedules (click here).

In past years, our family has used an approach similar to that shown in the above sample activity plan but eventually opted for a more complete learning experience using our reading plans along with activities to encourage science exploration and art/music study in our home. Please note that you do not need to match up your reading selections with what is taught in Classical Conversations. In fact, it’s better to read history chronologically (and science within context) and simply allow the memory pegs to work as they come up in whatever you are reading, whenever you are reading it.

For a reading/curriculum plan that overlaps much of the memory work studied during Cycle 2 but with an emphasis on the Great Commission along with an integrated study of world history/geography, science, and fine arts, check out our Mission: Faith Forgers Curriculum Plan.

Note: Although Mission: Faith Forgers is not directly correlated to the memory work, it includes a more complete study of astronomy, physical science, and history. The books selected for this reading plan were chosen as long-term resources for students to use when they embark on research and world geography memorization in grades 7+. This study has been designed to be used independently of Classical Conversations®. For families who use Classical Conversations®, the readings assigned in the Mission: Faith Forgers study overlap much of the memory work studied during Cycle 2 but is not correlated week by week. This provides an opportunity for ongoing review and integration of the memory work throughout the year.
